Island Yoga Retreat

A 3 bedroom holiday cabin with associated yoga retreat overlooking the north sea on an island outside of Ålesund, Norway. The project brief is to create a unique and environmentally friendly yoga complex on a beautiful, but difficult site within a moderate budget.

Our design includes a vertical cabin for the family complimented by a spare horizontal volume with 3 bedrooms for the yoga senter. 3 additional rooms in the form of individual wooden cubes  are spread throughout the site. The site was purchased for a low price due to it's steep slope and difficult terrain. To save money on siteworks the current design places all volumes over existing terrain.
