TPAC Building Site Update

We recently received updated images of The Taipei Performing Arts Center. These images were taken during the site visit by Managing Partner-Architect of OMA, David Gianotten. The images show great development on the construction site, since Various Architects partner, Ibrahim Elhayawan visited Taipei for the roof topping ceremony. Ibrahim was the project leader for OMA team through Preliminary Services phase, schematic design phase, working closely with OMA partners in charge, Rem Koolhas and David Gianotten.

The raw aluminum exterior of the spherical Proscenium Play house, the Grand Theatre and the Multi Form Theatre look stunning. The volumes of the three auditorium cantilever entirely from an incredible 55 m glass cube, which is has been nick named “The magic cube”, due to the flexibility and the unique stage configurations of the theatres.

We look forward to the completion of the whole project next year.

Construction continues on Bicycle hotel

The construction the Bicycle hotel in Lillestrøm, Norway is well underway. Ibrahim Elhayawan from Various Architects visited the site today to inspect the work progress. The massive wooden beams and the curved roof structure are already in place. The project is expected to be finished in August 2016.

 

CargoNet moved into Lodalen

The project includes the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the former administration building in Lodalen (Main Hall), owned by ROM Eiendom. The administration of Cargonet HQ just moved into the 3rd and the 4th floor of the building in addition to the locker rooms and fitness centre in the basement. The industrial zone border of the railway station moved in connection to the project to open for commercial areas.

Interior demolition was initiated in May 2015. Outline planning permission for the project was given 5/6-2015 and Modern Byggfornyelse AS was awarded the contract by competition with five invited construction companies. Commencement Permission was granted 16/7-2015.

Various Architects is currently working with the interior design of the 2. floor.

 

Villa Faun Roof topping

We celebrated the roof topping ceremony for Faun Housing Project. Located in Slemdal, Oslo, Norway. The projected consists of 4 high end apartments and duplex apartments. Each enjoy amazing view of Oslo fjord.

Completition expected by November this year. We look forward to seeing the development of the interiors of the apartments.

Ove Kristiansens vei: Application approved

Various Architects got approval for the extension of a single family house in Røa outside Oslo, Norway.  Ove Kristiansen vei 14 was designed by the famous Norwegian architect Sverre Aasland in the 1930s, and consists of one floor with basement. The footprint is about 140m2 on the 1022 m2 plot.

New Project: The Triangle Plot

Various Architects is currently working on designing two different proposals for the development of the Triangle plot in Frogn municipality, south east of Norway. The project is a collaboration with Astrid Reikvam of T2 and Remark Landscape architects. The task is to design two unique utilization solutions, tall buildings  and small houses buildings. The site has several qualities, including great views of Oslo Fjord and a green forest belt.
